7th, 8th, and 9th grade students participated in Career Day and Job Shadow Day. This years Career Day was an all day event. Career Day involved approximately 45 volunteers from various fields from within the community who presented information in two sessions to students. In addition to the Career Day speakers, 8th and 9th grade students were able to explore UtahFutures and create electronic 4 year plans in Skyward. These activities were designed to provide information to students and help them explore careers from various fields. These activities encouraged students to explore their interests and helped students to develop a better understanding of how their academics connect with possible future career choices.
Ninth grade students also went on a walking tour of Riverton High School. This allowed our 9th grade students a chance to see what programs and classes that RHS offers. While the 9th graders were exploring RHS, 8th grade students were able to hear presentations from a variety of colleges. While our 8th and 9th grader students were participating in Career Day, our 7th grade students participated in Job Shadow Day. The Job Shadow experience allows students to explore a specific career of interest by observing an employee while performing their normal work duties.
